What is the Student Research Program?

The Student Research Program is an initiative of the IHSJR to involve students in the research by guiding them through the researching process. Students participate in a free, 9-week virtual program during after-school hours and get to attend workshops and talks on professional development and researching beyond the IHSJR.

Is there a cost associated with the Student Research Program?

Nope! The IHSJR is committed to completely free open-access publishing for students and continues to uphold this through the Student Research Program.

What are the benefits of the Student Research Program?

By participating in the Student Research Program, you'll be able to better understand how the research process works (from investigation to writing to publishing). Additionally, the best papers from the Student Research Program will be submitted to the official IHSJR journal, where they'll undergo professional review from experts in the field of your research!

How long is the Student Research Program?

The Student Research Program is a 9-week program that is held virtually. The program with meetings held during after-school hours or on the weekends. A minimum weekly commitment of around 2-3 hours is expected outside of meetings/workshops/talks.

I'm from somewhere other than the U.S. and can't attend meetings. Can I still participate?

Yup! The IHSJR continues to serve an international audience through its Student Research Program. Although you won't be able to participate in the workshops/talks, you'll still be guided through the research process virtually.
