Edward Thomas (He/Him)

Founder, Head of the Peer-Editorial Board, Lead of Student Research Program

Sparked by a motivation to change the lack of opportunities for high schoolers in the research, I founded the IHSJR to encourage my peers from around the world to contribute to and build a life-long love for research.

As the Head of the Peer-Editorial Board, Edward gives every manuscript a final review before publishing and helps teach new peer-editors how to help make every submission the best it can be!

Saachi Kuthari (She/Her)

Head of Submissions

I'm a junior part of the three-year science research program at her high school. I'm a member of the Junior Academy research program at the New York Academy of Sciences. I'm interested in research on environmental engineering and sustainability in the fashion industry.

As the Head of the Submissions, Saachi reviews manuscripts that are submitted to the journal and ensures that they align by the IHSJR standards and a proper fit for the IHSJR journal!

Bryana Lorenzo (She/Her)

Head of Publications

A current Junior Editor at Polyphony Lit and a published teen writer, I've been praised for my critique and writing skills, having published in magazines such as Outlanderzine and The Graveyard Zine, with articles and fiction forthcoming at Voicevolic and Rhodora Magazine. I also have research experience, currently aiding a professor at Texas A&M on a humanities paper.

As head of publications, Bryana hopes to use her experience in editing and submitting to help students make their research papers publication-ready, while also bringing in a critical humanities and social science lens often missing in research journals.

Ben Turner (He/Him)

Head of Growth and Development

Hey, I'm Ben. When I'm not playing the guitar or oboe, I love to play sports-- my favourites are football and tennis (and weightlifting if that counts). I also love to read; I've just finished War and Peace, and I'd like to recommend F. Scott Fitzgerald if you're looking for something to read ;) I also play a lot of chess-- I'm currently trying to become a candidate master (and failing profoundly). My dream is to visit every country in the world, and I'm hoping to become a commercial solicitor in the future.

As the Head of the Growth and Development, Ben helps to strategize partnerships, growth, and initiatives to expand the IHSJR's reach and guide us on our mission to make research opportunities truly accessible to everyone.

Hey there! I'm Aly and I'm a rising senior from Canada! I'm a huge social media enthusiast and love challenging myself by decoding and understanding social media analytics. Having multiple friends go through the rough research paper publication process, I was immediately intrigued when I heard about the IHSJR's cause. I'm a huge people person and I love making connections with members within and outside our team. In my free time, I like to go trend searching, work out at the gym, read or spend time with my friends and family.
